The Great Green Wall carbon credit presentation at Investor Media event

GUD Malta extends its gratitude to Investor Media for inviting us to present the Great Green Wall carbon credit initiative to its investor group at the Royal Thames Yacht Club. This opportunity aimed to encourage investors to support the Great Green Wall by offsetting their carbon footprint with carbon credits generated by the communities involved. GUD Malta Co-Founder, Janine Campling, addressed a room of investors who expressed keen interest in getting involved and learning more about the initiative.

The Great Green Wall Initiative spans approximately 120 million hectares across Africa, bordering the Sahara Desert from Senegal to Djibouti. This ambitious project aims to combat the expansion of the Sahara, which could have catastrophic effects on our global ecosystem if not controlled, through comprehensive land restoration efforts. The initiative impacts around 90 million people, more than half of whom are under the age of 25. The total land area involved is roughly the size of the UK, Germany, and France combined. Ensuring the success of this initiative is a global imperative—failure is not an option. A collective global effort is essential to support the communities of the Sahel region, who are among the most affected by the anthropogenic climate crisis.
