The African Locust Bean Tree is a tall, evergreen tree found in tropical Africa and Southeast Asia. It can grow to a height of up to 30 meters and a width of 10 meters, with a broad, rounded crown. Its bark is dark brown and its leaves are large, dark green and glossy on top, and lighter green underneath. Its flowers are small and yellow, and its fruits are large, yellow-brown pods that contain edible, sweet pulp. The tree is known for its nitrogen-fixing ability, and it can be grown in a variety of soils. It is an important food source for many animals.

 

What is included: 

Each sapling will be geolocated and can be photographed with a bespoke message in view of the sapling when planted. It could take a few weeks to several months before the tree is ready to be planted but gifters and giftees will be kept up to date on the progress.
