The Baobab is a large, distinctive tree native to the Sahel region of Africa. It is known for its extraordinary size, often reaching heights of up to 30 meters and trunk diameters of up to 11 meters. Its thick, deeply furrowed trunk is made up of multiple ‘chimneys’, with several large branches growing up and out from the same trunk. The Baobab tree is an iconic symbol of the African landscape, often standing alone in the midst of an otherwise flat and arid environment. The Baobab is an important source of food, shelter, and medicine for the local people of the Sahel, with its leaves and fruit providing essential sustenance in times of drought.
 
What is included: 
Each sapling will be geolocated and can be photographed with a bespoke message in view of the sapling when planted. It could take a few weeks to several months before the tree is ready to be planted but gifters and giftees will be kept up to date on the progress.
